Youth who entered Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow 'Mannat' in 2023 caught for burglary in Gujarat
Ram Swaroop Kushwaha, previously involved in trespassing Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, was arrested for a Rs 3.90 lakh theft in Bharuch

BHARUCH/SURAT: A 21-year-old man who had earlier trespassed into Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, ‘Mannat,’ in Mumbai in 2023 has now been arrested in Bharuch for a theft of Rs 3.90 lakh.
The accused, Ram Swaroop Kushwaha, was nabbed in connection with a burglary at the residence of retired army jawan Siraj Mehta in Mona Park Society. Police said Kushwaha carried out the theft after being tipped off by another accused, Minhaz Sindha, a resident of the same society. The burglary occurred on Feb 13, when Mehta was out of town for a family wedding.
Kushwaha stole gold, silver, and cash worth Rs 3.90 lakh from house.
Bharuch deputy superintendent of police CK Patel said, “Kushwaha and Minhaz Sindha were arrested, and stolen items worth Rs 2.74 lakh have been recovered from their possession.”
During the interrogation, Kushwaha confessed that he had previously breached the high-security premises of actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, in Mumbai. The incident took place on March 2, 2023, when Kushwaha and a friend scaled the outer wall of the bungalow.
Once inside, the two intruders rested for eight hours in Khan’s make-up room before being apprehended by security personnel. A trespassing case was registered against them at the Bandra police station in Mumbai.
Bharuch B-division police inspector R M Vasava said Sindha enlisted Kushwaha for the burglary to avoid being identified himself, given his familiarity with the victim’s residence. Kushwaha gained entry into the house by climbing down from the terrace and accessing the first floor through a slider window.
Vasava said, “Sindha promised Kushwaha a 50% share of the stolen valuables. Sindha has three theft cases registered against him, while we suspect Kushwaha is involved in multiple crimes.”
Kushwaha, a resident of Amod town in Bharuch district, was arrested on Feb 17 upon his return to Amod after briefly staying at his uncle’s house in Mumbai after the burglary.
The Bharuch police sent a team to Mumbai to track him down but eventually apprehended him in Gujarat.
