'Kejriwal vowed 5 year ago': Rahul Gandhi challenges AAP chief to drink Yamuna water

NEW DELHI: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, took a swipe at AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal over his promises to end corruption and clean the Yamuna during his tenure and challenged him to drink Yamuna water in Delhi’s Badli region.
Rahul, addressing a rally in Badli ahead of Delhi polls said, “The person who promised to end corruption, bathe in the Yamuna, and drink its water is now at the centre of the biggest liquor scam. The entire country knows about it. Five years ago, Arvind Kejriwal vowed to bathe in and drink Yamuna’s water. I challenge him to drink the water available here in Badli.”

Rahul also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of attempting to undermine the Constitution during the Lok Sabha elections.
He said, “PM Modi and the BJP wanted 400 seats because they aimed to abolish the Constitution drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar and (Mahatma) Gandhi. Recently, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat claimed that we didn’t gain independence in 1947 but only after Modi came to power. This proves they don’t believe in the Constitution.”
