Elon Musk has 'changed' his name on Twitter again, he is back to ...

Elon Musk is back to ‘being himself’ on X. After briefly changing his display name to “Kekius Maximus,” the tech billionaire has reverted to his original moniker. Users searching for “Elon Musk” on the platform will once again find his familiar profile. This comes after a period of confusion where searches for his name yielded the “Kekius Maximus” account instead, leaving many wondering about the reason behind the sudden change.

Why Musk has changed his name on X

While the exact reason is not known yet, Musk name change has not only sparked intrigue among his followers and the cryptocurrency community but also has fueled speculation about his interest in a meme-inspired cryptocurrency token, KEKIUS.

Musk’s handle change made a dramatic impact on the cryptocurrency market, specifically a memecoin also named “Kekius Maximus.” This cryptocurrency experienced a surge in value, skyrocketing by over 900%. Prior to the change, the memecoin was trading at under 20 cents; within hours of Musk’s profile update, its value multiplied significantly.
KEKIUS, a token blending humour and decentralised finance (DeFi), has witnessed a meteoric rise in recent days, surging over 497% in a 24-hour period. The token, drawing inspiration from internet memes like ‘Pepe,’ has captivated the attention of crypto enthusiasts and investors.
“Kekius Maximus will soon reach level 80 in hardcore PoE,” Musk said in a post.

As of December 27, 2024, KEKIUS traded at approximately $0.005667. The cryptocurrency’s 24-hour trading volume has reached $2,734,948, signaling increased market activity and strong investor interest. Kekius hit an all-time high of BTC0.00078698 on December 27, 2024. Its all-time low was recorded on December 17, 2024, at BTC0.00086488, marking an impressive growth of 815.30% to its current value.

Musk has changed names multiple times

While Musk has remained tight-lipped about the motivation behind his name change, his known affinity for cryptocurrencies and meme culture has led many to believe it’s a subtle endorsement of KEKIUS. This wouldn’t be the first time Musk has playfully altered his X identity, having previously adopted monikers like “Mr. Tweet” and “Naughtius Maximus.”
“Mr. Tweet” came in January 2023 and Musk said, “Changed my name to Mr. Tweet, now Twitter won’t let me change it back.”
