NEW DELHI: A case has been registered against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Dinesh Mohaniya for allegedly misbehaving with a woman and making inappropriate gestures, including blowing flying kisses at her, Delhi Police sources said on Wednesday.
The FIR was lodged at Sangam Vihar Police Station under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult a woman’s modesty) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS).

The woman alleged that Mohaniya, who is the sitting MLA from Sangam Vihar, misbehaved with her while she was out to vote. The incident took place amid polling for the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday.
Mohaniya is contesting for re-election from Sangam Vihar against BJP’s Chandan Kumar Choudhary and Congress’s Harsh Choudhary.
Polling underway in Delhi
Voting for all 70 assembly constituencies began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. Over 1.56 crore voters are eligible to cast their ballots in this election.
AAP is seeking a third consecutive term, while BJP and Congress aim to regain ground in the national capital. High-profile battles include New Delhi, where Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit.
