JP on Friday slammed Mamata Banerjee for her disagreement with global projections that India would soon become the third-largest economy in the world. She “has a problem with India becoming the world’s largest economy… This is truly shameful. She is a disgrace to the constitutional office she holds. Who behaves like this on foreign soil?” BJP IT department head Amit Malviya asked. BJP’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said Banerjee’s trip to the UK seems to be mentored by Rahul Gandhi. “The so-called ‘Bharat badnaam karo (defame India)’ brigade is consistently working to tarnish India’s image on foreign soil,” Bhatia said.
